- 8600-blk of Garfield Av; Sunday, 4/7/2013 at 18:25 hrs; Items Stolen: (1) laptop computer; misc. clothing; black leather jacket; school books
- 5700-blk of Firestone Bl; Tuesday, 4/23/2013 between 10;30-10:37 hrs; Items Stolen: Stereo; backpack full of tools; speakers; leather jacket; sunglasses
- 8600-blk of Garfield Av; Saturday, 4/20/2013 between 17:15-20:00 hrs; Items Stolen: cell phones; wallet; keys to vehicle and Vics residence; tobacco grinders; cash; credit cards;
- 13600-blk of Garfield Av; between Saturday/Sunday, 4/13-14/2013 between 18:00-07:00 hrs; Items Stolen: car battery; music CD's.
Reminder: Never leave valuables inside an unattended vehicle especially personal papers such as Social Security cards, passports, birth certificates, vehicle pink slips, driver's license, etc. Criminals can use personal paperwork to commit identify theft and fraud.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY:
Area 5 for the month of March, 2013, reports (4) Residential Burglaries at the following locations:
- 10000 W. Frontage Rd, Monday, 3/18/2013 between 06:15-15:00 hrs;
- 6100-block of Roosevelt Av; Tuesday, 3/12/2013 between 15:23-17:05 hrs;
- 6000-block of McKinley Av; Tuesday, 3/12/2013 between 16:00-17:00 hrs;
- 6000-block of Main St; between Saturday/Tuesday, 3/9-12/2013 between 14:00-15:30 hrs;
Reminder: burglars often look for unlocked doors or homes where at least one window has been left unlocked. Even small bathroom windows can be an invitation to burglars. Burglars also often use the ruse of knocking on front doors to see if anyone answers. If no one answers they either hop the fence or go into the backyard to break in from the rear of the house.

Reminder: It's a good idea never to leave valuable paperwork such as Social Security cards, passports, birth certificates, income tax paperwork, driver's licenses, checkbooks, vehicle pink slips, etc. in your glove box and/or trunk. Thieves often ransacked unattended vehicles in the hopes of finding financial or personal information that they can use to commit identity theft. Thieves often window shop by peering into parked and unattended vehicles for things that may be valuable, such as purses, backpacks, briefcases, cell phones, clothing, and tools.
